Many actresses are called great, but who really is the best actress? The best answer is an opinion. So I'm giving my opinion. The best actress for me would have to be Meryl Streep, not because of how long she has been in the business, but because of the wide range of characters she can be. From the lonely mother in Mama Mia, to the tight and proper politician in The Iron Lady(both which she was nominated or won academy awards for). Meryl Streep has also appeared as the wife in a love-less relationship, in the romantic-comedy Hope Springs.
Not only the variety but the amount of emotion she can pull into a character is amazing. She has astonished everyone when she has effectively become a character. The amount of awards she has won for her dramatic performances is very considerable. Meryl Streep has been around for a while, and she continues to show why she will still be around later on.
