Basketball is now seen everywhere in America, nowadays you can't turn a single corner without hearing about some new NBA info. The most important event in the NBA is the playoffs. The playoffs are now coming to an end with Finals. The first game starts tonight where the Miami Heat will play against the San Antonio Spurs. The Heat. the fan favorite have been in the past 3 finals for the past 3 years, winning one last year. This is also the second time in the last three years that the Heat face off against a team for Texas, playing the Dallas Mavericks back in 2011. This is also a momentous occasion for the Heat's star player Lebron James, because the first ever finals he played was against the Spurs back in 07 when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He felt like he had been robbed of the title back in 07 and is definitely looking to win this game more than any other. Let's see what the outcome is of this amazing finals.

Duck Dynasty

It all started with Phil Robertson a starting quarterback for LSU going into the NFL, but before he went pro, he made the vital choice of changing his career to what he loved to do: making duck calls. As silly as the idea sounded he would soon grow his company, Duck Commander, into a multi-million dollar company. If anyone has seen the show Duck Dynasty then you know most of this already. The show which is now finished with it's 2nd season has grown widely in popularity due to the humor of several characters including: Uncle Si, Willie, Jase, Jeb & more. The small idea of duck hunting has made the Robertson family one of the most successful people in their little town of Monroe, Louisiana. The popularity has grown ever since and is now at it's peak, but as we have all seen that does not stop them from completing what they want. A small idea has brought this family much more than anyone could have ever wished for.

Football Training

The most important sport to American culture is football. It has widely influenced near to every American on what they wear, what they do, where the eat, and how active they are. Another essential way of influencing America that Football has is through school teams. The school needs to be sure that the players are physically ready to handle the sport so each player goes through a summer football training that is mandatory if they want to play. It consists of going to the weight rooms 3 times a week and lifting weights till their arms drop. Then with no break they continue their workout outside for another 45 minutes having to run along the track and carry care tires across relays in certain amounts of time. Then they get to the hurdles and do about 15 laps with varied forms of running over the hurdles. In short they work every aspect of their body for several weeks getting only short amounts of rest in between. The end product? An extremely fit and ready athlete who will be able to perform their best on and off the field. School's may have made it tough to accomplish but once you are through with it, things will just keep getting better.

Reaching New Heights

As the title may suggest the topic today will have to do with reaching heights both mentally and physically. A new landmark has been set when a 15 year old boy with down-syndrome named Eli made the trek to the top of Mt. Everest. He became the first person with down syndrome to climb it showing that a disability didn't stop him from achieving what he wanted. His cause simple to raise money for children with disabilities, and by showing them he could do it, he has put faith into anyone that hears his story.

Skiing

Skiing is one of the world's most enjoyable and exhilarating sports in the world. It gives you the rush of speeding down a hill and having fun with others as well. It is one of the few sports you don't have to be good at to have fun. It works every muscle in your body and gets you fit in a short amount of time. It burns many, many calories and is so fun you don't notice how much of it you do, in this way you are more active for much longer than you think. Skiing has many benefits such as getting fit, having a good time, meeting new people, socializing with friends, having small contests. Some people may say they don;t like to ski but that is either because they haven't tried or they've never liked the cold. The cold isn't a problem because you don't sweat and if you get warm in your coat, it makes sure your cool at all times. Skis are surprisingly heavy and make your feet carry a lot of weight which get's the muscles in your legs working, the constant movement of the poles stretches your arm muscles and really get's worked. Skiing is in my opinion one of the most beneficial sports, and I guarantee that if everyone tries it they won't be able to say it was bad.

Inspiring Your Colleagues

Doing anything requires work and a person can only get it done properly if they do it properly, if you go in and do something half-hearted it won't be as good as you could have gotten it. It's even worse when it seems your the only one doing what your supposed to, because of this you need to inspire your fellow workers to try their hardest. Some easy ways to do this is make them explain the problem to you and ask them how they would solve it. You could also give them an incentive such as buying them ice-cream if they do it. You can even make them work by listing all the consequences if they don't get it done. A person is more likely to do something better when they are really putting their all into it. If you can inspire your friends to do something you will find that their lives as well as yours will become much easier.
